This has been a tumultuous year for me. At the end of 2010, I was unexpectedly released from my previous job. I discovered quickly that a standard job hunt was not going to achieve what I needed. I needed a digital presence to direct potential employers to that they could browse at their leisure. Previously, I had used my blog spaces as a catch all for my general art work that had no home elsewhere. I decided to use my blogs to act as a support system for my digital portfolio and in some cases as my portfolio. EXP3 emerged from this idea as the basis for my portfolio.
Since most of my graphic design work for the past 10 years has had a commercial and print orientation, I decided to go with a magazine format for my base portfolio. I was looking for a theme as I began collecting pieces and came across a sketch for the EXP3 logo. I've had EXP3 with the mantra of "Explore. Expand. Experience." in one of my sketchbooks for some time, but it never quite found a home until now. It was exactly what I was seeking to convey and quickly enough, my portfolio was complete and posted on ISSUU for easy viewing. This blog was created to support my portfolio and to give the pieces used in the creation of the EXP3 magazine individual posts for more detailed viewing.
My initial idea for EXP3 was that it would be a combination of my resume and my portfolio for my commercial design and job experience. As I continued the work I discovered that I had an opportunity to do a lot more. I realized that I could use EXP3 to document my movement and work as an artist and designer. My previous work has predominately been in the print industry and only over the past few years have I begun moving into digital. EXP3 could measure and expand this movement. It was with that realization that I decided to make EXP3 my ongoing portfolio and resume.

EXP3 will host work featured in my portfolio EXP3. From this point forward though, Zombie Bites will host all my work that is dark or focused on fear and Trail of Bread Crumbs will host all of work focused spirituality and philosophy. Regardless of this separation, I expect there will be a good bit of crossover and cross linking here in EXP3 as much of the work in Zombie Bites and Trail of Bread Crumbs will be used in issues of EXP3. However in my other two blogs I will be sticking more strictly to the topics of the individual blogs.
