Mindscape of Alan Moore

The best bits are middle to the end, but Alan Moore is always a pleasure.

From The Archives: The Keeper

This is a character design I developed for a vampire story I was working on in the early 90's.  He was supposed to a druid type, a defender of the "world tree", and a shape changer.  At that time, I was very influenced by the Image comics style, thus the eye tattoo.  I cringe looking at this now, but I'm sure I'll cringe looking back at some of the work I'm doing now.  In the end, It's all just history.

From the Archives: Machine Man Vs. Man-Thing

These are a set of sketches I did in preparation for a submission to Marvel Comics of Machine Man Versus  Man-Thing.  These were created during the period between Machine Man's last series, X-51, but before his appearances in Nextwave.  This short plot was an idea of Aaron Stack's return to earth after his time with the Celestials.

Machine Man returns to earth transformed into a spherical construct.  He crashes in the swampland containing the Nexus of all Realities and recognizing his home world, returns to a humanoid form.  He meets a young woman, Selina, who lives in the swamp.  Shortly after the two are attacked by the Man-Thing.  In the end, the true villain is revealed to be D'spayre disguised as the young woman and manipulating the two heroes for some dark purpose.

Wind of the Gods Integration: Withering Stare

Here we have a sketch of the glare of some super villain or perhaps the discovery that the root source of spontaneous combustion is raw indignation.

From the Archives: Male Portraits

Here are a couple of male sketch portraits.  These were either me doodling or background character images.  However, the elf guy has similarities to the main character of a Sci-Fi story I'm working on.

From the Archives: Modern Female Portrait

A quick sketch portrait.  I believe this may have been a second version of one of the characters from a Noir story I was working on with another writer.

From the Archives: Tunnel Sketch

Here we have a quick layout sketch for a  moody subterranean or sewer scene.

Wind of the Gods Integration: Alpha Flight

This is the first time all of these pieces have appeared in the same place at the same time.  They have been posted elsewhere, but in the spirit of integration, I would like them present here as well so that they are all together.

New at Zombie Bites: The Featured Creature!

At Zombie Bites this month I've begun a new weekly offering called the Featured Creature.  Each week I will be posting a fresh Creature sketch from my hand drawn sketchbooks.  At the suggestion of one of my readers, I began adding elements in Photoshop.  Developing the images further with Photoshop by adding tones and effects quickly became a staple of the Featured Creatures.  Here are a few of the images I've posted so far.  Drop by and let me know your thoughts!
